Occupancy & Stays
LodgeBeam tracks every guest stay through its full lifecycle, with special support for both private rooms and dormitory-style accommodations.
Stay Lifecycle
Booked → Checked In → Checked Out → Reset Complete
↘ Canceled
Booked
A reservation is created before the guest arrives. The space or bed is marked as expected.
Checked In
The guest arrives and is checked in. The bed state changes to occupied. Housekeeping knows the room is in use.
Checked Out
The guest departs. The bed state changes to vacated. Check-out tasks are automatically generated based on your task rules.
Reset Complete
After housekeeping finishes and the room is inspected, the space is marked ready for the next guest.
Canceled
A booking is canceled before check-in. The space remains available.
Bed States
Each bed has a daily state that drives housekeeping decisions:
- Vacant — Ready for a new guest
- Occupied — Guest is in-house
Bed states update automatically during the stay lifecycle. You can also update them manually from the occupancy page.
Dorm-Specific Features
For dormitory rooms with multiple beds:
- Occupied Bed Count — Track how many beds in a dorm are occupied vs. vacant
- Per-Bed Tracking — Each bed is tracked individually, even within the same space
- Mixed Occupancy — A dorm can be partially occupied, with only specific beds in use
